Kajiado County government lifts 14-day suspension of operations at livestock markets
It is now a reprieve for traders in Kajiado County after a 14-day suspension of the livestock markets was lifted by the county administration. Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku says operations at the market will resume so as to ensure that there is an adequate supply of beef in all parts of the country as well as stabilize prices.

The development has been enforced after traders called on the government to intervene after the closure had affected their financial constraints thus adversely affecting their day to day lives. The livestock markets had earlier been closed in efforts aimed at containing the spread of COVID19 pandemic.
Lenku has however urged the locals to observe social distancing and wash their hands during the trading so as to curb the spread of Corona Virus.
Operations in several parts of the country have been disrupted due to the spread of Corona Virus pandemic a situation that has seen most of the services almost come to a halt leaving locals stranded.
