Wondering what bisexual is? Bisexual has different meanings by different people. This can make things confusing if you think you might be bisexual, know someone who is bisexual, or you’re just wondering what it means to be bisexual.
However, historically, bisexual means that a man or woman is attracted to both gender. This means one can date a man or a woman.
In addition to affirming that there are individuals that do not identify as male or female, the new definition also removes the previous expectation that a bisexual person only be attracted to two gender identities.
For instance, one could say, “I’m bisexual, and I am attracted to men, women, and folks that identify as agender and bigender.”
Stated differently, the current definition of bisexuality refers to the minimum number of genders that an individual is attracted to as opposed to the maximum.
Conversely, in our society you are expected to identify yourself to be straight or gay.

The former swimmer Harry Needs wants people to know that being bisexual isn’t “a gateway to becoming gay” or about “being greedy”.
The 28-year-old was married to two-time Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington. They split in 2016, but remain friends and continue to co-parent their five-year-old daughter, Summer.
Harry speaks about growing up knowing he was attracted to both sexes, his marriage to Becky, and having his first same-sex relationship.
He, however, says that “love is love as long as you are happy”
I call myself bisexual because I acknowledge that I have in myself the potential to be attracted — romantically and/or sexually — to people of more than one sex and/or gender, not necessarily at the same time, not necessarily in the same way, and not necessarily to the same degree.
