“Our Africa TV Program” by Merck Foundation Launched
“Our Africa” is a pan-African TV program conceptualized, produced, directed, and co-hosted by Senator, Dr. Rasha Kelej, CEO of Merck Foundation.
The program features African Fashion Designers, Singers, and prominent experts from various domains with the aim of raising awareness and creating a culture shift across Africa on issues such as diabetes, ending child marriage, supporting girl education, women’s empowerment, stopping GBV, ending FGM, and breaking infertility stigma, among other social and health issues affecting the continent.

Through “Our Africa,” Merck Foundation has established the first “Fashion and Art community with Purpose” across 20 countries to break the silence and be the voice of the voiceless on critical and sensitive social and health issues in Africa and beyond.
The TV program will be broadcast in Kenya starting on May 6th, 2023, on KTN Home. You can watch it every Saturday at 5:00 PM and every Wednesday at 6:30 AM. Senator Dr. Rasha Kelej, CEO of Merck Foundation, will host the show along with co-host Brian Mulondo from Uganda.
In the program, they will discuss and address various social and health issues relevant to Africa in a unique way through the African Community of Fashion and Art with Purpose. It will be a first-of-its-kind interactive show, featuring talented fashion designers and singers who sensitize communities through their creative work across Africa.
OBJECTIVE
The program aims to reach out to youth and other members of urban and rural communities to address and raise awareness about a wide range of pressing social and health issues relevant to the continent.
