60,000 Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccines Arrives In Uasin Gishu County.
Uasin Gishu County on Thursday evening received 60,000 doses of Coronavirus vaccine.
The arrival of the vaccine in the county was confirmed by Uasin Gishu County CEC Health Dr. Evelyn Rotich during the press conference in Eldoret regional vaccine stores and says that they are now ready for distribution.
“We have already trained our staff on administration and storage of the vaccine “, Says Rotich.
“Eldoret being the storage store, has received the 60,000 doses that will cater for Elgeiyo Marakwet, Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Transnzoia, and Turkana”, adds Rotich.
According to the CEC, every county will collect its own dose at its preferred time.
Dr.Rotich says that Uasin Gishu county has prepared the Huruma health facility that will be providing the vaccination.
“Huruma will start with the prioritized areas, beginning with the health care providers, teachers, and the uniformed forces ” explains Rotich.
“We have 3 vaccination centers in Eldoret, that is Huruma health facility in Turbo sub-county, Moi teaching and referral hospital, and Moi barracks”, adds Rotich.
“15,000 doses will go to Huruma facility, 3000 to Moi Barracks, and 6000 to Moi Teaching and referral hospital”, says Rotich.
